New York—Global ad spending will reach $471.3 billion this year, up 4.1% over last year, according to an updated forecast from ZenithOptimedia.
is down just slightly from 4.2% growth ZenithOptimedia projected in April. ZenithOptimedia said global conditions such as natural disasters and political upheaval contributed to the slightly slower growth from its earlier projection.
In North America, ad spending will reach $165.3 billion this year, up 2.3% over last year. That is also down slightly from the 2.6% growth forecast in April.
Next year, global ad spending will reach $499.2 billion, up 5.9% over this year. In North America, ad spending will reach $171.2 billion next year, up 3.6% over this year.
