Ziff Davis acquires NetShelter

Published on .

New York—Ziff Davis Inc. announced it has acquired NetShelter, a technology publishing advertising network, from inPowered. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The NetShelter community includes more than 150 independent business and consumer tech sites, such as AndroidCentral.com, MacRumors.com and TechSpot.com. Brothers Peyman Nilforoush and Pirouz Nilforoush, who co-founded NetShelter in 2006, renamed the company inPowered last November after the platform it developed that allows brands to choose articles or social media posts and turn them into advertising. At that point, NetShelter became a subsidiary. “Seeing the results companies have experienced since using inPowered has been inspiring and a key reason behind our decision to focus our entire company on this mission,” CEO Peyman Nilforoush said in a statement. Ziff Davis, which was purchased by j2 Global in November, publishes such b-to-c and “prosumer” technology sites as Geek.com PCMag.com and Toolbox.com.
