New York—Ziff Davis Enterprise has started a companywide restructuring in which an undisclosed number of staffers are being let go, said Steve Weitzner, who joined the company as chairman-CEO in January. The job cuts are across the board, he said.

ZDE comprises the former b-to-b division of Ziff Davis Media that was bought by Insight Venture Partners last August for $150 million.

As part of the restructuring, Larry Walsh has been promoted to VP-Channel Insider, from editor in chief of Baseline. ZDE’s channel business includes Channel Insider, eWeek Strategic Partner and several events.

Kirk Laughlin has been promoted to managing director of the company’s Live Event business, from senior editorial director, and Kevin Neary, previously CFO at Primedia, has joined ZDE as exec VP-CFO.

B-to-b media veteran Mike Azzara was recently named to the newly created position of senior VP-product management.

Additional promotions and appointments are forthcoming, Weitzner said. “After my first quarter on the job, I’ve got a better view of the opportunities and talents that we have and the talents that we need,” he said.

ZDE publishes Baseline, CIO Insight and eWeek. Its portfolio also includes Web Buyer’s Guides, online network Developer Shed, ZD live events and a database of 4.5 million IT professionals.
