Ziff Davis posts higher revenue, EBITDA

New York—Ziff Davis Holdings, the parent company of Ziff Davis Media, on Monday reported first-quarter revenue of $42.7 million, an increase of 2% from $42.0 million in the year-earlier period. The company posted a $26.3 million net loss for the quarter, compared with a $24.7 million net loss in last year’s first quarter.

Ziff Davis Holdings said its consolidated EBITDA of $4.3 million for the first quarter represented a 43% increase from $3.0 million a year earlier.

The company said consolidated EBITDA will be "meaningfully lower" in the second quarter compared with the second quarter of 2004.

The enterprise group showed the most improvement in the first quarter, boosting revenue to $18.2 million, a 17% gain over the $15.5 million generated in the first quarter of 2004.
