Ziff Davis realigns Internet unit; Millard leaving

Published on .

New York -- Ziff Davis Media Inc. on Thursday said it was folding its Internet unit as an independent operation and that its Web properties would be integrated back into its print cousins at Ziff Davis Media. Wenda Harris Millard, who was recruited to Ziff from DoubleClick Inc. by recently ousted Ziff CEO Jim Dunning, is stepping down as president-CIO of Ziff Davis Internet. She will stay on for the next month during the transition. Sources said she turned down what would have been a reduced role with the company. A Ziff Davis spokeswoman said five staffers would lose their jobs because of the realignment, but added that all Web properties are still scheduled for launch, including next month's scheduled relaunch of InteractiveWeek.com.
