Ziff Davis rejoins ABP

Published on .

Ziff Davis Media Inc., New York, recently acquired by Willis Stein & Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm, has rejoined the American Business Press, the association announced Wednesday. The company, then known as Ziff-Davis Publishing, had resigned its membership last year as its former owner, Tokyo-based Softbank Corp., was contemplating a sale of ZD Publishing and its parent, Ziff-Davis Inc. The loss of the company cost the ABP $150,000 in annual dues and, coupled with the departure of CMP Media, helped cause the organization to change its bylaws to allow membership for non-print publishing companies, such as online company VerticalNet Inc.
