Ziff Davis reports narrower loss

New York--Ziff Davis Holdings Inc., the parent company of Ziff Davis Media Inc., reported a third-quarter net loss of $29.1 million, compared with a net loss of $70.5 million a year earlier. Revenues totaled $41.8 million, down from $62.7 million in last year's third quarter. On the positive side, the company, which completed a debt restructuring earlier this year, posted positive earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of $1.2 million, compared with a $12 million EBITDA loss in the third quarter of 2001. The company expects EBITDA for the fourth quarter to be in the range of $10 million to $12 million, compared with an EBITDA loss of $4.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2001.
