Published on .

New York - Ziff-Davis announced Friday it will hold a special meeting of shareholders on March 30 in New York. At the meeting, Ziff-Davis shareholders will vote on the company's proposal to issue a new series of common stock to track the performance of its online business division, ZDNet. The meeting is a mere formality, because, according to documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Softbank Corp., which owns a majority of ZD stock, will vote to issue the tracking stock. No date has yet been set for the tracking stock's initial public offering.
