Ziff-Davis tracking stock begins trading

New York -- The price was $19 per share Wednesday for Ziff-Davis' long-awaited initial public offering of a tracking stock for its online technology portal, ZDNet. The IPO raised $190 million, which will be used to pay down ZD's outstanding debt. Fueled by the Internet frenzy that has gripped the stock market of late, ZDNet closed at $36 per share Wednesday. ZD closed Wednesday at $21.50, after closing at $29 per share the previous day.
