Fake Elections: Dave Barry, Call Your Lawyer

Colbert May Push Joke Into Legal Territory

By Published on .

Dave Barry runs for president every four years. Heck, it seems Dave Barry runs for president even when there's no election going on. Now, comedian Stephen Colbert, has thrown his hat into the ring. And, if this Politico story is to be believed, Colbert may have trouble with the FEC.

The difference, it seems, is that Colbert and his team may have gone so far as to file actual paperwork in an attempt to get on a ballot--which the Feds might not find funny. Barry was always too lazy to do anything that ambitious.

The other difference is that Barry is funnier.
