Gingrich Video Puts the 'New' in Newt

But It Seems Like He's Resurrecting an Old Idea

By Published on .

In an ad touting a "tele-townhall," the Newt Gingrich campaign plays with typography and the word "new." It offers "NEW ideas," "NEW solutions," "NEW thinking" and so on before the "NEW" morphs into "NEWT." But the so-called new idea? Another Contract With America.

Gingrich's Facebook status linking to the video reads: "In the last Century, a Contract was forged with the American People that ended 40 years of 1 party rule in Congress. The results were historic: over 11 million new jobs in just four years, welfare reform, and the first balanced budgets in a generation."
