The segment we've all been waiting for has finally arrived. Last night on HBO's "Last Week Tonight," John Oliver devoted one of his signature operatic takedowns to Donald Trump. What took so long? Oliver gets at the fear all the media has about covering Trump: feeding the beast only makes Trump stronger -- or as Oliver puts it, "every time his name is said out loud, he has a shattering orgasm." Also, given his wins so far and likely wins on Super Tuesday (per poll predictions), "Donald Trump is America's back mole. It may have seemed harmless a year ago, but now that it's gotten frighteningly bigger, it is no longer wise to ignore it."
Relying, as always, on his crack research team, Oliver takes on some of the mythology surrounding Trump, including the idea that he's fully self-funding his campaign (uh, not quite) and the notion that he's worth $10 billion (Trump's math is ... interesting). Oliver even looks into the history of the Trump brand/family name (spoiler: See see the new website donaljdrumpf.com ("Make Donald Drumpf again!").
