Obama: Some Political Ads 'Go Overboard'

Barack Obama Talks to '60 Minutes' About High-Stakes Ad Game

By Published on .

On CBS's "60 Minutes" last night, President Barack Obama was asked specifically about the tone of advertising and the, for lack of a better word, "mistakes" made in some of the ads.

Obama owns up to regretting the "mistakes" but in terms of negative advertising, I like his general attitude. "Most of the time we're having a vigorous debate about a vision for the country ... and there's a lot at stake in this election." Republican or Democrat, if you believe the stakes are high, then you should be laying it all out there.
