Obama May Sponsor Race Car: (UPDATE: It's not happening)

UPDATE: Turns out that this car sponsorship isn't going to happen. (More here.) According to Sports Illustrated, Barack Obama will become the first presidential candidate to spend campaign money to become the primary sponsor of a Nascar race car. Tom Bowles reports that "Barack Obama's campaign is in talks to become the primary sponsor of BAM Racing's No. 49 Sprint Cup car for the Pocono race on August 3." (Via Ben Smith.)
