More Trouble for McCain Campaign

Media Team Resigns

By Published on .

According to The Wall Street Journal, "Sen. John McCain's media team has resigned, an indication that a campaign shake-up two weeks ago is continuing to backfire and further imperil the Arizona Republican's presidential candidacy."

Russ Schriefer and Stuart Stevens, citing concerns about receiving pay, both quit. After another recent campaign shakeup and the admission that money was in short supply, some strategists had suggested McCain could rebound by playing to his one strength -- hammering Democrats for their desire to withdraw troops in Iraq -- with Republican primary voters upset with him about McCain-Feingold and the failed so-called amnesty immigration bill .

Developments such as these, especially considering much of it seems to involve infighting and leadership issues as much as it does money, prevent McCain from moving forward.
