One of youngest
Mr. Pereira, 31, will be one of the youngest jury presidents the festival has ever had, and the first Brazilian to head the cyber jury.
In Brazil, Mr. Pereira started an Internet department at Sao Paulo agency DM9 DDB in 1996, and left in 1999 to join a technology company called Midialog that evolved into AgenciaClick, Brazil's leading digital agency. The agency's clients include Fiat and Coca-Cola.
Brazil's most awarded
Mr. Pereira, Brazil's most awarded online advertising creative professional, was a member of the Cannes cyber jury soon after the festival started the cyber awards.
In his spare time, he is preparing an international exhibition of his paintings of masks of orixas, Brazilian spirits derived from African tribal gods.
