The Titanium Lions were created to recognize groundbreaking work that doesn't necessarily fit into a single media category, and was inspired partly by the BMW Films campaign done by Mr. Lubars' previous agency, Fallon Worldwide.

Except for a new outdoor jury, the other 2006 Cannes jury presidents have already been named, starting with David Droga, who will preside over both the film and press juries this year. Mr. Droga was worldwide chief creative officer of Publicis Worldwide until late 2005, when he announced he was leaving to open his own business in a joint venture with Publicis. He told the festival that his new company, DrogaFive, is a brand-ideas and entertainment laboratory that will open in early 2006.
For the first time, the festival is splitting the press & outdoor jury into two separate juries, with an outdoor jury president still to be named. The other jury presidents are:
Registration for the festival opens Jan. 12. Though it doesn't begin until June 18-24, the festival's early registration date should set off a rush to snag the best hotel rooms since there are usually more free-spending delegates than rooms along the Croisette oceanside boulevard. The shortage gets worse every year, with high-level executives spending months on waiting lists or opting for villa rentals or hotels off the Croisette.
