Interactive agency Breakfast first showed off its Instaprint device at last year's SXSW - and is now looking to turn it into a bona fide consumer product.
The device turns photos modified with Instagram into physical prints. It can also automatically detect and print photos tagged in social media with a particular location or hashtag (so if you're at a party, you can get instant snaps of the event). Prototypes of Instaprint have been used at events from The Grammys to Lady Gaga concerts, but Breakfast has now put the product on Kickstarter to create a version that can be used anywhere. Supporters can pre-order the product (which, if the funds are raised successfully, will ship in late summer) and Breakfast will also stream a live 'try-it-out' feed of Instaprint, printing people's Instagrams from around the world. Anyone that posts an Instagram and tags it with #instaprint can visit the Instaprint page on Kickstarter or instaprint.me to watch as their photo is printed.
