Burt, the software development company behind Rich, the media analytics tool that helps agency creativesand producers track the success of their online campaigns, is going global, thanks to a generous boost in capital from a Swedish investment firm. Founded in 2009 by Crispin Porter + Bogusky ECD Gustav Martner (pictured left) and Gustav von Sydow, Burt just received an investment of SEK 14 million ($2.2 million) from Swedish investment company Industrifonden, while its founders, along with the investment firm Tornstaden, will also contribute to a total share profile of SEK 20 million ($3.2 million).
The new funding will be used to open Burt offices in the U.S. and the U.K. The company has grown from two to 24 employees within the last year alone. The Rich tool, released last year, allows companies to analyze the environments in which their ads are displayed, see how many other ads appear alongside them and which ones users are actually seeing. Since launch, the tool has been used to analyze over ten billion adss. Clients who have used the tool include Bonnier, SAS and Stampen.
