To promote the opening of the new building of the Salvador Dali Museum on January 1, 2011, Goodby, Siilverstein & Partners teamed up with photo app maker Hipstamatic on The Dali Museum Goodpack. The Hipstamatic supplement goes for $.99 on iTunes and lets users effect their everyday images with Dali-inspired surrealism.
All proceeds from the app will go to the Dali Museum. The promotion also features a contest. Filmmaker John Waters will select nine finalists from user-submitted Dali-fied images. Those will be projected onto the new Dali Museum Building in St. Petersburg, Florida on opening night and the Best of Show winner will be flown in for the big event.
