Eric Fischer: See Something or Say Something

Published on .

Digital cartographer Eric Fischer has combined data from Flickr and Twitter to create a series of fascinating visuals of world cities.

In his pictures, orange dots represent Flickr pictures while blue dots are tweets; white areas (such as pictured here, in downtown Manhattan) represent where people are using both. The data is gleaned from people geotagging their tweets or Flickr uploads, and in addition to cities like New York, London, Buenos Aires, Barcelona and Tokyo, Fischer also created maps of entire continents.

The pictures can be seen at Fischer's Flickr feed .
