This is the First Facebook Election

Published on .

Whatever else it brings, this is the first "check in" Election, with both Facebook and Foursquare setting up special voter maps based on "check ins" at polling places. Facebook has set up an "America Votes" page on Facebook Stories, displaying information as people "check in" all over the country to vote. The page displays the number of votes, their geographical location, and a breakdown by gender and age. Meanwhile, Foursquare's I Voted 2012 Map shows information state by state, and users can also get an embeddable badge.
