Forgot Mother's Day? Coke Zero Will Send a Hand-Painted Masterpiece of You to Your Mom

Published on .

This Mother's Day, give your mom a gift she'll never forget: a painting of your mug, with maybe some butterflies around it. Coke Zero's new social campaign asks forgetful guys -- because women never forget moms! -- to tweet an excuse on May 12 for why they forgot this particular Hallmark holiday to @cokezero, with the hashtag #motherpieces. The best reasons will get a framed "Motherpiece" of themselves sent to their mamas (albeit a bit late), created by one of ten classically trained painters. Because after all, says Coke, "unlike flowers and chocolates, a painting lasts forever."

Let this majestic rendering of Ad Age Managing Editor Ken Wheaton inspire you to come up with some clever excuses.
