MasterCard allowed rugby fans the chance to wallow in nostalgia in the run up to the Rugby World Cup, in a social-media based campaign revisiting past matches.
On the MasterCard Australia website, people could tag themselves in video footage of vintage past Rugby World Cup games, using Facebook Connect. They could leave a comment saying where they were and what they were doing at a precise moment in the game. The videos then ran on the site with the comments displayed across the screen.
MasterCard worked with Mercer Bell Sydney and McCann Sydney on the campaign, which ran in Australia and New Zealand.
