Microsoft Promotes Windows 8's Live Tile with a Real Live Tile

Published on .

To promote Windows 8 and its "live tile" feature, which displays real time information from apps, McCann Oslo decided to bring the idea to life in 3D form on the streets of Oslo. As a famous Norwegian band, Datarock, played behind a facade in a makeshift bar on a busy street, pedestrians, curious about the noise coming from a bar, were encouraged to step on a giant lit -up tile on the street. When someone stepped onto the tile, the wall fell down and the band spilled out.The film was made by McCann Oslo and Motion Blur and was directed by Hallvar Witzoe.
