NHK: The A Game

Published on .

Tha Ltd. and Yugo Nakamura bring whimsical fun to the Japanese hiragana letter ah, in this promotional interactive video for Japanese broadcaster NHK's design-minded educational show "Design Ah." The show taps the talent of Nakamura, musician Cornelius and graphic designer Taku Sato and deconstructs various everyday objects, like a piece of cake, sushi, Japanese cloth-wrap furoshiki and even a pencil and stapler, in a way reminiscent of Forsman & Bodenfors' Homemade is Best Ikea baking book. The A Game interactive piece invites visitors to the Ah site to sketch out their own "ah" which then becomes part of a super fun online dance of different versions of the hiragana character.
