To promote Scrabble, Ogilvy Paris put Wi-Fi hotspots in areas of the city that had no internet connection - but consumers had to play the game to get online. To log on, users had to select the Scrabble network, create their best word and earn Wi-Fi minutes based on their score. Words shared on Facebook doubled their score. Over a two week period, people played more than 6,000 words.
