Y&R Midwest Uses Pinterest to Help Sandy Victims

Published on . 0

As Pinterest usage grows, agencies are turning more and more to the platform to engage social media users in charitable projects (for example, BBH's work for the African Medical Research Foundation, and CP+B's effort to help breast cancer sufferers). This latest effort, from Y&R Midwest/VML, is aimed at helping people affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Helpin. It is Pinterest page that tries to imagine what the page of someone truly in need would look (as opposed to a wishlist page). Users can browse the board to purchase items that families have lost. Each pin links to an Amazon registry, where items can be purchased and sent directly to the families. You can also re-pin the items to spread the word.
