The New York Times created this little interactive game to accompany a story about "hyperaddictive, stupid games." Based on the original "Kickass" game, which allowed you to install a bookmarklet so you could steer a little cursor around any website and 'shoot' at annoying ads (or anything else.)
The NYT game works pretty much the same way and was designed by Jon Huang. Shoot at the annoying ads! Or maybe the author's name. The accompanying NYT Magazine story is about the history of simple games like this -- beginning with Tetris all the way up until Angry Birds.
