An all-star cast of Lena Dunham, Jon Hamm and director/actor Alex Karpovsky launch The New Yorker's new iPhone app in a somewhat nineties-style filmed web film. For the luddites among you, Dunham herself spoon feeds Hamm and Karpovsky an explanation of what an iPhone is, what an app is, and even what The New Yorker is. Dunham not only appears in the film--she directed it too.
The effort is the mag's latest celebrity attempt to debut its digital goods. Back in 2010, it tapped actor Jason Schwartzman and director Roman Coppola to create this promo for its iPad app launch.
