YouTube: Space Lab

Published on .

YouTube's educational endeavors are reaching the final frontier. To get students interested in space projects, the folks at YouTube are challenging you to design an experiment that would work in space. Six regional winners will be chosen by a jury that includes Stephen Hawking, and two global winners will see their projects sent to the International Space Station and carried out...and live-streamed on YouTube to show the world the possibilities of space. Winners will also get prizes like a Zero-G flight, laptops, a chance to watch your experiment blast off in a rocket bound for the space station -- or even, get this, astronaut training in Russia. More info can be found on the official Google blog, where Zahaan Bharmal, the lead on the project, explains details and how to enter.
