Bracket Very Busted? Lowe's Gives Spring Commercial a Final Four Twist

Tweets Inspired Home Improvement Retailer

By Published on .

Lowe's is getting in on this weekend's NCAA Final Four action with a clever revamp of a commercial it began airing earlier this spring.

In the ad, a man stares in disbelief as his freshly tiled bathroom wall begins to crumble. The spot was part of a spring campaign focusing on guys attempting various DIY projects and carrying the tagline, "Need Help?"

The "Bathroom Tile" ad, in particular, attracted attention on Twitter from consumers comparing the ad to their busted brackets.

The social media conversation inspired Lowe's and creative agency BBDO NY to bring the "bracket busting" idea to life with an updated version of the spot, set to air Saturday, said a BBDO spokesman. In the new spot, the tiles all feature the names of college teams that have been eliminated from the tournament.
