NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Karen Quintos, a 10-year veteran of Dell, was named CMO by the marketer replacing Erin Mulligan Nelson, whose departure for Bazaarvoice was reported by Ad Age earlier today.
In a statement today the company said Ms. Quintos will be responsible for "building the company's brand for Dell customers, team members and stakeholders around the world." Ms. Quintos will oversee the company's brand strategy, global communications, social-media efforts, corporate responsibility, global research, marketing talent development and agency management.Prior to being named CMO Ms. Quintos was VP-marketing for Dell's global public business, where she was charged with driving global marketing strategies and product and pricing programs. Before that she was VP-marketing for Dell's Americas commercial business.
In the statement, Michael Dell, chairman-CEO of Dell, said: "Karen's success at Dell has come from her tremendous focus on our customers and her strong understanding of our commercial IT solutions. She is a world-class marketing professional."
