Swedish production house ACNE has appointed Jesper Palsson, former CEO and partner at Stopp LA, to head its US office. The company, which has offices in Stockholm, Berlin, Paris and London as well as in L.A., says the move heralds an expansion in the US market. Palsson, who has worked for clients such as Google, Lincoln, Chevrolet, and Toyota, will be charged with strengthening digital capabilities and developing ACNE's current roster of US directors. He worked at several advertising agencies in Sweden and opened his own design studio before joining Stockholm-based Stopp in 2007, and moving to L.A. to expand the company's digital division.
Production and creative development company The Cortez Brothers has signed director Laurentius Emmelman (known as Laurentius) for representation in both the US and Hispanic markets. Laurentius has directed campaigns for Nokia, Mercedes Benz, BMW, IKEA, T-Mobile and Guinness. He has been honored by the Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors Showcase, Junior ADC Award (Germany), and Porsche Int. Student Advertising Festival (1st prize). He was also shortlisted for a Young Director Award at the Cannes Lions.
Editorial house NO6 has added Paul Plew to its roster. His reel includes work for Honda, Pepsi, Microsoft Xbox, Volkswagen, Oakley, and Sony. He joins NO6 after spending eight years as a commercial freelance editor in Los Angeles.
Rattling Stick has signed music video director Jack Whiteley to its roster. Whiteley made his promo debut 18 months ago for Stealing Sheep's "I am the Rain" and followed it with "Jive Babe", a promo for Norwegian artist Mikhael Paskalev which resulted in his being shortlisted for the Cannes 2013 Young Directors Award.
