After an autumn spent settling into new space, Patti and David Coulter have officially launched Santa Monica-based BeachHouse Films, the successor to production house Tropix. The Coulters founded Tropix, a division of Atlas pictures, in 2000 before deciding to close it last fall to forge out on their own. The BeachHouse roster includes Tropix directors Richard Taylor, Martin Shewchuk, Harry Karidis and Larry Carroll. The house has also recently signed directors Bob Marden and Scott McCullough. … Santa Monica-based music house Stimmüng has launched a new division to showcase the talents of Liza Richardson, a popular deejay at public radio station KCRW. The division will specialize in music licensing, researching and consulting for commercial clients. Richardson has served as music supervisor on campaigns for high-profile clients like Acura, Apple and Microsoft, for whom she licensed the Madonna track that appears in the launch campaign for Windows XP. … Terry Zwigoff, director of the feature Ghost World and the documentary Crumb has signed with Santa Monica-based Independent Media for spot representation.
