Havas' Euro RSCG has named Jason Peterson chief creative officer of the network's Chicago office, replacing Steffan Postaer—a six-year veteran of Euro RSCG—who is staying on as office chairman.
Mr. Peterson most recently was executive creative director, partner and co-president at Interpublic Group of Cos.' Translation in New York. He joined the shop in October 2009, and while there, oversaw campaigns for McDonald's, Target, State Farm and Mars Inc.'s Wrigley. Before Translation, he was a creative director and founding partner at WPP's Berlin Cameron United, working on Coca-Cola, Heineken, General Motors and Comcast. He's also had stints in creative roles at Publicis Groupe's Fallon and DDB spin-off Berlin Wright Cameron.
"Recently there's been a lot of talk about chief creative officers with a lack of traditional and digital knowledge, when in reality there aren't many forward-thinking agencies," said Mr. Peterson. "Euro RSCG has the best handle on new media and still knows the idea is what's essential. That's why they were the clear choice for me. Great creatives have caught up and what everyone should be looking for are people with big ideas."
