FCB Brasil has promoted Joanna Monteiro to the position of chief creative officer after three years at the agency. Monteiro joined in 2012 as executive creative director. She was named in AdAge's Creativity 50 in 2014 after work that included Nivea's "Protection Ad" for sunblock, which won a Grand Prix at Cannes. She has also been an honoree at Ad Age's Women to Watch Brazil, and she was president of the jury for the mobile category at this year's Cannes Lions. Monteiro, who will continue to work alongside her creative partner Max Geraldo, who is creative VP, began her career as a copywriter at Ogilvy and has worked at DPZ, W/Brasil and Africa.
M&C Saatchi has acquired a minority stake in Inspi(red), an advertising agency based in Istanbul, Turkey, and formed a new agency, M&C Saatchi Istanbul. The creative team includes Tolga Ustungor, creative director, and Kanit Erdogan, Anastasia Pozdeeva and Ismail Erustun, art directors. Team One has appointed Jon Ruppel to the role of creative director. Ruppel previously held leadership positions at TBWA / Chiat Day and Schematic (now part of Possible Worldwide) producing work for brands like Nissan, Sony Playstation, Comcast, Target and T-Mobile before starting up and operating Hooky Interactive, a boutique digital agency serving clients such as The Walt Disney Company, Fox Broadcasting, and Sony Entertainment.
