TBWA's Digital Arts Network has made new hires and launched new specialty groups within the agency. Larry Lac [pictured] has joined to lead the shop's social efforts as director of SMARTSlab. He comes from 72andSunny, and has also previously worked with Wieden & Kennedy. A new division, Mobilelab, has also been created -- and joining that is Vaino Leskinen who comes from TBWA Helsinki to lead mobile strategy and product creation. Peter Bassett has also been promoted to director of digital production.
Wieden & Kennedy London have hired creative director duo Tim Vance and Paul Knott, who will be moving over after six years at AMV BBDO, where they worked on brands like Doritos, Sony PlayStation, Guinness and Volkswagen, winning awards at Cannes and other award shows. The team met at LBi.
AKQA has hired Sebastian Gunnewig in the position of director of brand strategy and planning, where he will be responsible for the agency's strategy department and also oversee strategy across the San Francisco office's portfolio. Gunnewig was previously director of brand planning at TBWA Media Arts Lab in Los Angeles, where he worked on Apple. He has also spent time at 180 Amsterdam and Los Angeles.
Toronto-based Blammo is expanding, with the addition of four creatives to the shop, which has done work for Arby's Canada, the LCBO and POGO recently. The new hires are: Mike Richardson who comes from DraftFCB, where he worked on Coors Light, TD Canada Trust and Kraft Foods; Oliver Brooks, formerly of DraftFCB and Crispin Porter & Bogusky; and Vanessa Heber and Victoria Sturgess, who recently graduated from Humber College and interned at Crispin.
