Lavoie to Head ADC Ad Jury, and other moves

Paul Lavoie, president and co-founder of Canadian agency Taxi, has been named chairman of the advertising jury for the 2005 Art Directors Club awards, the ADC announced today. This year's competition will also include two new categories: "Playground," a category -- first introduced by Lavoie at the 2002 London International Advertising Awards -- for work that was commissioned but did not run; and "Hybrid," a category for campaigns that cross traditional boundaries. The deadline for entries is Jan. 21. ... Tor Myhren, formerly a CD on the Infiniti account at TBWA/Chiat/Day/L.A., has joined Leo Burnett USA as an executive VP-ECD. Myhren, who will maintain offices in both Chicago and Detroit, will oversee the General Motors account, which is handled by Burnett's Detroit-based Chemistri unit. ... Mike Randall, formerly of New York's Merkley & Partners, has joined The Republik in Durham, N.C., as a strategic coordinator. ... Chris Mckenna, formerly a senior creative at TLC, has joined bicoastal network identity firm Stun Creative as a CD and director.
