Mitchell joins The Mill, Serial adds Bussmann and more

The Mill LA has added creative director Paul Mitchell to its Mill+ design team. Previously, Mitchell was the creative director at Prologue Films and was responsible for work including campaigns for Ford, DuPont, NFL, ESPN and FIFA World Cup. Prior to this, he was lead design director for the BBC's Graphics Division in London. Additionally, Mitchell's arrival at The Mill reunites him with LA's EP Stephen Venning, also a previous BBC Graphics graduate. Mitchell's awards include an Emmy Award in 2009 for his work on SPORTSNATION (Outstanding Graphic Design), and a BAFTA nomination for his work on the 2004 Olympic Game opening titles. He has also worked on VFX on Iron Man 2.





New York and L.A.-based Serial Pictures has added director Matthaus Bussmann to its roster for commercial representation in North America. His recent work includes Red Bull's "Defeat" (Ogilvy & Mather) and Opel's "Adam" (Scholz & Friends OPC) and he has also directed spots for brands such as VW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, T-Mobile, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Sears and Reebok.





Swedish commercial director Andreas Tibblin has joined Zuma Films for exclusive representation in the U.S. Tibblin has directed productions in Brazil, Morocco, Spain, Italy Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom for brands such as Volvo, Marabou and McDonald's.










Holiday Films has added director Robert Logevall to its roster for Canadian representation. Swedish native Logevall has directed spots for clients such as Volkswagen, Fiat, Lexus, Michelob, Tommy Hilfiger, Ford, HSBC, Visa, Chrysler, Verizon, Jackson Triggs, Land Rover, Southwest Airlines and Toyota. His campaigns for Audi and Lincoln Financial have won honors at the AICP Show at MOMA in New York, and his short film Vexation Island, with artist Rodney Graham, has played at the Tate and other major galleries around the world. His film All God's Children Can Dance has screened at several film festivals and recently premiered on IFC.





Creative studio Splice has appointed Dan O'Brien as executive producer. O'Brien has experience making commercials, TV shows and films and most recently worked as director of production at Sharp Entertainment, producing more than 30 series in a single year for networks including National Geographic, Discovery, History, and Travel Channel. Earlier in his career he co-founded Rogue Creative where he helped create network branding spots for MTV, Spike TV and G4, and produced live-action and animated commercials. He has also produced an independent feature documentary, "King George", and produced for MTV Development.









MPC New York has hired Chris Bernier as VFX supervisor and CG lead. Bernier has worked with brands including GE, Cheetos, SNL, Pepsi, IBM and more. He most recently worked at The Mill as Senior 3D lead artist and VFX Supervisor, and earlier in his career freelanced at Curious Pictures, followed by QuietMan. Recently, he worked as CG lead on spots for Coca-Cola, Norfolk Southern, Nintendo, Dawn and Gillette, and this year's Milk campaign ad that ran during the 2013 Super Bowl.





Production company Utopic has hired Suzie Moore as an editor. Moore has worked with clients including Walmart, Kimberly-Clark, Ashley Furniture, Sharpie, Vitamin-Water and DePaul University. She began her career at Avenue Edit, and later worked as an editor at Foundation Content.
