Clifford's Organizing Principle
Pentagram/London partner John McConnell, who's been with the design firm for 31 years, has announced his retirement, effective March. He'll remain with Pentagram as a consultant to the partnership. Architect William Russell will be joining Pentagram/London as a new partner.

Noah Manduke has been promoted to the new position of president/chief operating officer at New York strategic branding firm Siegel & Gale. Manduke joined Siegel & Gale in 1997 as the managing director of its Los Angeles office.

TippingSprung LLC, a New York-based branding consultancy, has named Robert Schwartz as licensing director. Schwartz was formerly with corporate brand licensing agency The Beanstalk Group.

Andrea Rosenfeld, formerly a photo editor at Corbis, has joined Sharpe & Associates, an L.A.-based rep agency for photographers. Rosenfeld will assume sales responsibilities for all western markets.

New York's Graham Clifford Design has a new and improved in-house-designed website at www.grahamclifforddesign.com. The site is based on an interesting visual conceit, based "on the wooden type cases used by traditional typographers throughout the two previous centuries," says design director Clifford. "We thought it was a strong metaphor to reflect where all our work springs from. I was trained in the classic ways by my type director father in London, so there's a meeting of old-world craft and leading-edge tech in all that we do — hence an electronic desk of type drawers." A web page featuring Clifford's design for Moby's Teany iced teas, showcased earlier in PrintCritic, is seen here.
