New York and London-based production company 1st Ave Machine has added Austin-based director and knitting graffiti artist Magda Sayeg. Sayeg was introduced to the company, which has worked with Google and Samsung, while partnering with director Aaron Duffy on the Toyota Prius Cozy spot. In the last year, Sayeg has worked on the W logo for the W Hotel in Austin. In the coming weeks, she will also unveil a "yarn-bombing" project on the Williamsburg Bridge along with the New York City Department of Transportation.
Modea, which recently won a Gold for Best Culture at Ad Age's Small Agency Awards, has appointed Kyle Lewis as executive creative director. He comes from BBDO Atlanta where he was senior vice president and creative director. He will report to Modea co-founder David Catalano. Modea's roster includes brands like HTC, Chiquita and Mizuno. Lewis worked for BBDO for 17 years, contributing to campaigns for AT&T, Dell and Wachovia.
Film and video editor Kevin Zimmerman has joined New York and Santa Monica, Calif-base No. 6. Zimmerman spent the last six years at Whitehouse LA. His work includes spots for Bud Light, Windows 7 and Carl's Jr. He has also done some voice work for Best Buy and Kia. He will be based out of Los Angeles.
DOJO's head office in San Francisco has appointed Raphael Milczarek (left) and Josh Stern as creatives. Miczarek was most recently senior creative at Goodby Silverstein & Partners. He joined the shop in 2009 after working with JWT New York, BBDO Germany and DDB Germany, among others. He has worked on campaigns for BMW, Volkswagen and Pepsi. Stern was most recently at TBWAChiat]Day in Los Angeles. His most recent work was a branding campaign for Infiniti.
R/GA Chicago has added Richard Goldsmith as director for social media in a newly created role. Goldsmith will focus on social media outreach for the agency's big new client, Grey Goose, along with going after new business. He will report to Sean McCarthy, vice president, managing director, Chicago, and Richard Ting, senior vice president and executive creative director, Mobile & Social Platforms. Goldsmith's last position was at Sears Holding Company as social media manager.
