AKQA has promoted Rei Inamoto to lead the New York office, in addition to his role of chief creative officer. Inamoto will oversee all departments, including creative, technology, strategy and client services, in New York. Inamoto helped launch AKQA in New York in 2004 and he later transferred to the San Francisco office. However, two years ago, he returned to New York where he has been involved in building new client relationships and making key hires. Inamoto had serves as a judge and jury president at global creative festivals including Cannes Lions, Eurobest, Spikes and more. He is also a board member for the Art Directors Club and the Google Creative Council. On November 13, 2012, he will be inducted into the American Advertising Federation's Advertising Hall of Achievement.





Carbon VFX has appointed Matt Thunell as executive producer of its new West Coast studio, which shares space with its partner company Whitehouse Post in Santa Monica. Thunell will lead the studio with over a decade of experience working at creative studios and visual effects facilities in LA and San Francisco. Thunell joins Carbon from Motion Theory/Mirada, where as senior producer he produced projects for directors and executives such as Mathew Cullen, Grady Hall, Javier Jimenez, and Jeff Scruton. Recent work includes the Wrigley 5 Gum spot "Choose Your Energy", directed by Jon Favreau.





Creative studio Bonfire Labs has hired Carey Crosby as executive producer and John Stewart as senior creative director. Crosby comes to Bonfire from Goodby, Silverstein and Partners, where she implemented a social media campaign for Sprint. She has held production positions at Publicis Modem, Radium, Hal Riney & Partners and GSD&M, and helped co-found ad agency Red Ball Tiger and production service company Roaring Tiger Films. Before joining Bonfire, Stewart completed a freelance project for NBC reworking the new opening promo for Sunday Night Football starring Faith Hill. Over his career, he has worked withDigital Kitchen, SuperFad, and Radium and spent time at agencies Duncan Channon and NKH&W.
