Harpoon Pictures, the NY-based production company headed by Chester Mayer, has added director Rohitash Rao to its roster. Rao's work includes animation as well as live action, and has included spots for Nike's "Be Transformed" campaign, created and produced by AKQA. His agency experience includes BBDO, Larsen/Colby and Stein Robaire Helm in L.A. and freelance work at such shops as TBWA/Chiat/Day, Cliff Freeman & Partners, Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, Ogilvy and Fallon.
Marc Smith has joined Framestore's New York design department as senior design director. Originally from New Zealand, Smith has 14 years experience in the advertising industry and has worked on both the agency and production side. Recent credits include commercials work for BBH NY, IDEO, BBDO NZ, DDB NZ, Droga5; and clients such as Google and Nike.
