Former Goodby ACD/AD Bryan Houlette has joined the San Francisco office of BBDO as creative director. Houlette was at Goodby for seven years and worked on campaigns for Adobe, HP, "Got Milk," Nintendo and Saturn, among others. He begins his new post this week and will work on BBDO S.F. clients such as Mars, Vail Resorts and Gallo.
Joel Kaplan, formerly a senior copywriter at Pereira O'Dell, S.F., joins San Francisco shop Eleven as associate creative director. At Pereira O'Dell, his clients included University of Phoenix, Corona and Captain Morgan. He also previously worked at AKQA, where he helped to create the Halo 3 "Believe" campaign, and at Crispin Porter + Bogusky, where he was part of the team behind the Titanium Lion-awarded "Whopper Sacrifice" for Burger King.
Transmedia company Motive has appointed Brian McSweeney as technical director. McSweeney will help to spearhead the company's efforts for smartphones, iPad as well as web apps and AR offerings. He will also help to build the company's in-house team of tech experts, work in project management and also help to pitch new clients.
