Paris agency BETC is opening a London office, the first of what is says will be a series of international outposts. BETC London open its doors on May 26th and will be led by Matthew Charlton, formerly president of Modernista! (pictured, far left) and Neil Dawson, formerly worldwide chief creative officer for Philips at DDB (center). Charlton is CEO and Dawson is ECD. It will build an independent roster of clients aimed at UK clients and global clients based in the UK. BETC Paris was established 17 years ago by Remi Babinet (pictured, right) Mercedes Erra and Eric Tong Cuong. It now has 630 staff and 68 clients, 80% of which are international brands, including Peugeot, Evian, Lacoste, Air France and Reckitt Benckiser.


R/GA is expanding its social team with three new hirings. Jason Chan and Ryan McLaughlin join as directors, and Jonny Sabbath as associate director. Chan (left) was previously strategy director at Blast Radius, leading accounts including Nike, BMW, Microsoft, and Starbucks. McLaughlin joins from Initiative Los Angeles, where he led social strategy on brands including Hyundai, Kia, and Dr. Pepper. Sabbath was previously director of social media at William Morris Endeavor.


Acne Production, the Stockholm-based production company, is opening an Acne Digital office in Berlin. It will run the office in conjunction with Germany production company Tempomedia. Acne also has an office in Los Angeles, and has worked on campaigns for the likes of Audi, Saab, Intel and Bosch.
