BBDO San Francisco has made several new hires, including Crockett Jeffers, who will be joining the agency as a creative director to oversee its Gallo Family Vineyards, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, Vail Resorts and Cesar Dog Food accounts, as well as several new business pursuits. Jeffers comes from Venables Bell & Partners where he was a creative director and copywriter working on Audi, Barclays, Conoco and ConAgra, including the development of Super Bowl advertising. His work has been recognized by The One Club, Cannes Lions, New York Art Directors Club, Communication Arts and the AICP, among others. He began his career as a copywriter at Butler Shine Stern & Partners, as well as working at TBWAChiatDay, Los Angeles.
Jeffers will be partnered with Amber Justis, who joined BBDO San Francisco as a creative director in August from DraftFCB. Justis has worked on digital at agencies such as Evolution Bureau on campaigns such as "Elf Yourself".
In addition, Michael Duckworth joined BBDO San Francisco in September as creative director on Nutro, Natural Choice and Uncle Bens for Mars, Sutter Health and Hewlett-Packard as well as new business. Before BBDO, he worked for agencies including The Richards Group, Saatchi & Saatchi and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners.
Y&R Australia/New Zealand has promoted Ben Coulson to chief creative officer, a new position. Prior to moving into the regional role, Coulson served serving as executive creative director of GPY&R Melbourne for four years and under his creative leadership, the agency was the most-awarded Australian Agency at Cannes this year. Most recently, the agency took home five awards from the London International Awards.
Beacon/Leo Burnett Tokyo has appointed Ryuji Mitsuishi to the role of digital business & strategy director. He was previously director of digital strategy. He has been at Beacon Communications KK since 2011 and has previously worked at McCann Worldgroup (McCann Relationship Management) and DDB (Rapp / Tribal DDB) after starting his career in Quito, Ecuador, where he launched a multimedia production boutique focusing on interactive design, computer graphics and digitally integrated solutions.
The Artery VFX and Harbor Picture Company are forming an alliance for post-production in New York City. The alliance between the two studios emerged from a number of recent collaborations, including a Nike interactive project and Coldplay and Rihanna's Princess of China music video. The Artery VFX is led by partner/CD/VFX supervisor Vico Sharabani and partner/EP Yfat Neev (left) while Harbor is led by partner/ colorist Joe Gawler and founder/ president Zak Tucker (right).
