Droga5 has announced the opening of a New Zealand office. The new agency's founding partners are former Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand ECD Mike O'Sullivan, former DDB creative strategist Jose Alomajan, who also previously served as digital business director at AimProximity and former Saatchi & Saatchi CEO Andrew Stone. The new agency arrives less than three years after Droga5 opened an Australian shop, now home to 35 staff, with clients VB, Crown, Cascade, V Australia and Telstra.
Peruvian creative team Gian Carlo Lanfranco and Rolando Cordova have joined BSUR, Amsterdam. The pair will work on MINI and come from Wieden + Kennedy, Amsterdam, where they worked on Coke and Nike. The first worked together at Saatchi in Peru, after which they moved to the agency's Singapore office and worked on award-winning projects for Gunness, P&G and Sony Ericsson.
Crispin has signed Jay Russell (left) and Mitch Bennett to its creative team on Windows Phone 7. Russell comes from GSD&M, where he worked on BMW and led the pitch that won the agency the BMW account. Prior to that, he was GCD at TM in Dallas and worked on the Life Comes at You Fast campaign for Nationwide Insurance. Mitch Bennett also comes from GSD&M, where he worked on American Legacy Foundation, AT&T, Southwest Airlines, L.L. Bean and Marshalls. He also helped to launch UnscrewAmerrica.org, a campaign promoting energy efficient lighting across the states. Bennett has also previously worked at McKinney and BBDO N.Y.
