Epoch Films has signed Tom McCarthy and Daryl Wein for commercial representation. McCarthy's portfolio includes the critically acclaimed independent films The Station Agent, Win Win and The Visitor, and he received an Oscar nomination for his work on Pixar's Up. Wein directed, co-wrote, co-produced and co-starred in the indie romantic comedy, Breaking Upwards, which premiered at the 2009 SXSW Film Festival. He also directed Sex Positive, about the invention of safe sex during the AIDS crisis, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the L.A. Outfest Film Fest. He is currently working on his second narrative feature film, Lola Versus.
Partners Film has added director Michael Downing to its roster for Canadian representation. Toronto and LA-based Downing, has directed spots including 'Skydiver' for Bud Light, via DDB Chicago, ranked number one on USA Today's Big Game Ad Meter for the 2005 Super Bowl, as well as work for Stride, Orbitz, Honda, Toyota, Wendy's, Burger King, Comcast and HBO. Downing is represented by Epoch Films in the U.S. and Independent in London.
