Firstborn recently announced four new hires to its creative team. Leigh Whipday joins as art director, after spending a decade working in digital, most recently as freelance designer/AD at Tronic Studios. He was also a lead creative at Code Computerlove and has worked on award-winning projects for clients like Nike, BBC, TopShop and The Saatchi Gallery. David Vale also joins as art director, from senior art director at Mexico's GrupoW. Prior to that he was at Grafikonstruct, Sao Paulo. His client creds include Rexona, VW, Pepsi and Dove. Ivonne Azurdia (pictured) comes on board as senior copywriter, from the same post at Sapient Nitro in South Beach. Her past clients include HBO, adidas and Powerade. Thomas Longo also joins as producer, after serving as interactive project manager at Ogilvy Interactive.
Droga5 has promoted former Head of Account Management Sarah Thompson to President of the agency. Thompson will oversee agency operations and manage the company's growth and expanding client roster. The move will help to free up founding partners/Creative Chairman David Droga and CEO Andrew Essex so they can spend more time on creating strategy partnerships and new opportunities and firming up core relationships.
Sam Walsh has joined Team One as Executive Producer. Walsh will focus primarily on the agency's Lexus client but will work across multiple accounts. Most recently he served as founder/CEO of production and technology consultancy Signal Management, working with clients like Ford, Team Detroit, Coca-Cola, JWT N.Y., ESPN and Roxy. His past agency jobs include stints at Publicis & Hal Riney, JWT and Team Detroit. One of Walsh's most high profile projects was the Ford Bold Moves campaign, the 30-part web-based documentary out of JWT N.Y. and Detroit.
Swedish motion design duo Happycamper, aka Robert Rosen and Andres Rosas Hott have signed to Stink for worldwide representation, excluding Scandinavia. Together, the pair has created spots, bumpers and idents for IF Insurance, MTV and RWE Energy.
GSD&M Idea City promoted Lindsay Stillman to senior producer. Stillman joined the agency in 2004 as an intern in the AV studio and has produced and edited spots for Southwest Airlines, Kohler and L.L. Bean.
Two-time Emmy winning Creative Director Eric Anderson has joined the roster of Yu+Co. Anderson moves from Digital Kitchen, Chicago, where he worked for twelve years, most recently as executive creative director. There, he earned Emmys for his opening sequences for HBO's "Six Feet Under" and Showtime's "Dexter."
Moroch Partners, Dallas has appointed Bob Shallcross as Executive Creative Director. The 30-year advertising vet has worked at shops like Y&R, Leo Burnett and JWT, on clients like McDonald's, Coca-Cola and Hallmark. He last served as CD/Partner at jimbobdallas, Dallas, now known as Jake:Ferguson.
